wine for italian food?

Im making lasagna this weekend and am looking for a wine that will go good with it. Any good recomendations?? Nothing to expensive….and something tasty for someone whos not a big wine drinker

If you go Chianti make sure it is a Chianti Classico, they are much more consistent.
I also like to go with Spain here, esp Rioja. Spanish and Italian food have kind of the same need for good acidity, and go well with tanic wines too. Spain is also much more affordable. I would stay away from the jammy-fruity new world stuff, and anything aged in new oak, so Australia and Cali are off the table.
Give Chilean Carmenere a look as well. Remember the key is a bit of kick from the acids and tannins.

What sort of Italian wine should you serve w/Italian food?
